WATERPROOF FLEXIBLE EPOXY UNDERCOAT FOR TIMBER

TIMBERSEAL UC is a tough, flexible epoxy coating for waterproofing and protecting timber above and below water. It is ideal for use on fishing boats and commercial craft that require a tough and durable coating. It will last several times longer than conventional coatings when used on craft that are in continuous use coming alongside quay walls, pontoons etc. TIMBERSEAL UC is also an ideal primer for antifouling coatings.

TIMBERSEAL UC’s hardener contains a wood oil that gives it natural flexibility and toughness combined with the strength and durability of epoxy. Its greater adhesion, toughness and durability compared to conventional coatings will provide a longer lasting base for finishing coats.

APPLICATION  TIMBERSEAL UC should be applied over one coat of TIMBERSEAL PS epoxy primer. TIMBERSEAL UC must be mixed thoroughly. Either mix all of the hardener into all of the resin or if you require a smaller quantity or are unable to use all of
the material within its pot life, weigh out resin and hardener in the proportions shown on the label. Ensure that the material is mixed well. Apply by brush, roller or spray in thin coats.

OVER-COATING  TIMBERSEAL UC must be over-coated within the times shown in the table below according to the ambient temperature and the hardener used. If it is allowed to cure beyond the maximum over-coating time its must be abraded to a matt surface to provide a key before applying further coating.

This steamboat operates from a stone quay without fenders. When coated with conventional paints the topsides required repainting halfway through the season but when Timberseal PS and UC were applied the paintwork was still in good condition at the end of the season.
