EPOXY COATINGS WITH AMAZING ABRASION RESISTANCE

ARMOURGUARD epoxy-ceramic protective coating system is a recent development in high performance coatings for marine and industrial steel work. There are six grades available, all are based on unique surface coated ceramic micro-spheres which have high strength and abrasion resistance, unlike other fillers used in coatings such as ground limestone or chalk which have little strength.

When cured ARMOURGUARD contains the maximum possible volume of ceramic micro-spheres with just sufficient epoxy to fill the gaps between the spheres when the coating has cured.

It is well known that a very thin film adhesive joint is much stronger than a thicker one. It is this phenomena which accounts for ARMOURGUARD's tremendous adhesion to the substrate which is 3 to 4 times that of conventional two part epoxy coatings. The increased adhesion results in ARMOURGUARD having exceptional corrosion protection qualities because rust is less able to creep beneath the coating.
