FLEXIBLE EPOXY RESINS

SYNTAFLEX EPPU series are a new generation of hybrid resins which have the advantages of both epoxy and polyurethane resins. They offer greater flexibility, adhesion and toughness than standard epoxy resins but have reduced heat resistance. They are cured with epoxy curing agents which are selected for their compatibility with the base resin.

SYNTAFLEX EPPU 20 Contains 20% polyurethane. Quite hard, very tough and slightly flexible. Better adhesion than standard epoxies and only slightly less temperature resistance.

Best cured with SYNAMIN 610 hardener but it can also be cured with SYNAMIN 220.

• Better adhesion than either epoxy of polyurethane resins.
• Excellent impact resistance.
• Good flexibility, will accommodate substrate movement  

APPLICATIONS:

Laminating of timber decks and hulls where movement must be accommodated.

High strength fillet joints when mixed with cellulose fibres and a filler.

Any application where increased impact resistance and flexibility is required.

SYNTAFLEX EPPU 50 Contains 50% polyurethane. Tough and flexible, excellent elongation, adhesion and abrasion resistance. Lasts much longer than polyurethane sealants when used for deck seam filling.

Best cured with SYNAMIN 610 hardener because it lowers the viscosity of the mixed material. Can be cured with SYNAMIN 220

APPLICATIONS:

Deck seam filling where moderate movement is expected.

Bonding of flexible surfacing such as granulated cork or rubber.

Bonding of hard granulated materials such as bauxite to flexible substrates to form a non-slip surface.

Bedding down of teak veneer decks. Provides a permanent bond without the need for priming, just clean oily or waxy wood with solvent.
